Frequently Asked Questions
1. What types of books can a Learnhall educator teach?
Any book that he/she wishes to teach. It can be a textbook, a fiction book, a non-fiction book, or even a single poem or coffee table book. The book can be an actual book or a PDF. As long as the book material is covered fairly thoroughly, we are open to having someone teach it on our platform.
2. If it's a textbook, is every single question answered?
We highly encourage our educators that are teaching textbooks to try to cover many of the book's questions at least in a PDF or something so that the learner at least gets the answers from most, if not all, of the book's problems from your online course. However, you don't have to showcase every single question and answer through video as that could get very cumbersome quickly for most textbooks. Additionally, if learners or other contributors are submitting answers to the book's problems, it would be ideal if you could include those in your updated course and/or course material so the course becomes as close to a "complete" course as one could get online with regards to the book in question.
3. Can I teach a book that already has been taught on here?
Yes. If you have an original or unique take on the particular book in question and you have an interest in teaching it, please don't hesitate. Learners love to learn and one of the beauties of a platform like this is the myriad perspectives that educators might have regarding the teaching of a particular book or series of books. For example, some poetry book educators might teach by writing an essay from scratch regarding a central theme of the poem while still other educators might wish to teach the same poem's sociopolitical and historical significances while illuminating the character/s and literary devices that exist with those frameworks in mind.
4. Who is allowed to teach a book on here?
Anyone who believes they have a solid take on the material and who believes that learners will glean a mountain of information and knowledge on the aforesaid text should teach a book on here. You don't have to be a licensed educator with an "MA" or "PhD" behind your name, but it's obviously not a minus if you do. As long as you LOVE teaching, we would LOVE to potentially have you teach here on our platform.
5. Who should take these courses?
If you believe that you will learn more about the text in question by taking an online course here as opposed to simply reading the book on your own or using another modality, please do so. We created this website for learners like you! And we want you to be excited about this way of learning from the books you love -- come any and all genres and types!
